A car vs. pedestrian accident has claimed the life of a woman in Huntington Beach.
According to HBPD Public Information Officer Jennifer Carey, the incident took place Tuesday before 6:30 p.m. on Beach Boulevard, north of Heil Avenue.
Police found that the walker was deceased in the roadway after being struck by a 2004 Toyota Corolla. The driver, a 76-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
It doesn’t appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
Police believe the Toyota was traveling south on Beach and struck the pedestrian who was in the roadway – outside of the crosswalk – north of Heil Avenue.
