Tustin, California Tyler Macchiavello Auto Accident Driver Dead

TUSTIN – A driver who died Friday after being ejected from his SUV on the 55 freeway has been identified as 20-year-old Tyler Macchiavello of Yorba Linda.

California Highway Patrol officers responded at 7:55 a.m. Friday to a report that a red SUV had flipped on the northbound 55 at the I-5 in Tustin. Macchiavello, who was not wearing a seat-belt  was ejected from the vehicle, the CHP said Friday. He was transported to the hospital with "major" injuries, the CHP said.

Officials say he was the driver of an SUV headed northbound near 4th St in Tustin on Friday, August 3. He lost control and crashed, causing him to be ejected.

Macchiavello was taken to Western Medical Center but died from his injuries at 8:40pm.
